Add your own artwork, logo, wording, business branding, team design, gift message or original idea to suitable clothing sold through our website. Custom printing is available using DTF and DTG methods, depending on the garment, fabric, colour, construction and available print area.
Only selected clothing sold by Retail Store AU can be customised through this service. We do not print on clothing supplied from outside our store.
What do DTF and DTG mean?
DTF — Direct to Film
The design is printed onto a transfer film and applied to the garment using heat and pressure. DTF is suitable for many fabrics and works well for detailed, full-colour designs.
DTG — Direct to Garment
The design is printed directly onto the fabric using a specialised garment printer. DTG is generally best suited to suitable cotton or cotton-rich garments and produces a soft, detailed finish.
We will recommend the most suitable printing method for the selected garment and design.
Need help creating the design?
You can supply finished artwork or send us your idea. Retail Store AU can create or adjust your design at no extra charge when required for your custom clothing order.
This can include arranging wording, preparing a simple layout or adjusting supplied artwork so it is suitable for printing. You will be able to review and approve the design before production begins.
Which clothing can be printed?
Custom printing is available only on selected clothing sold by Retail Store AU. Not every style, fabric, colour or garment area is suitable for DTF or DTG printing.
Print placement may be limited by:
- seams, pockets, zips, buttons and collars
- panels and other garment construction details
- fabric type, texture or surface finish
- garment colour
- the available flat printing area
- the size and shape of the design
The final print size and position will depend on the garment style and size selected.

- the product name
- the colour and size
- your preferred print position
- your artwork, wording or design idea
- the quantity required
We will confirm whether the garment is suitable, recommend DTF or DTG printing, advise the available print area and provide the additional printing cost.
